Where We Are You Now
Andrew Zientek and Dave Williams collaborate on an installation for Clark Priftis Gallery in Baltimore, MD.
Everything is about a social condition. This works seeks to create a spatial possibility, which simultaneously allows for individuality and collectivity. Through destabilizing the routines of perception the idea of the individual gives way to a more broad ecological understanding of ourselves as relational creatures.
Space is not a form, a frame or a container of a neutral kind but rather is fashioned and invested by social activities. It is, simultaneously, the outcome of past actions and the framework that shapes and permits new actions. Space is a social morphology and is fundamentally polyvalent; it is at once formal and material; at once a product to be used and also a framework for production.
